The Singapore Indian Orchestra and Choir (SIOC) is delighted to bring you our second major concert after incorporation as a music company, to be presented at the prestigious Victoria Theatre. The concert, on 10 March 2024, is aptly titled “Spring Harmony”, heralding the freshness of new melodies and novel presentations with the universally harmonising force of music. On stage will be 40 vocal and instrumental musicians of the 39-year-old Singapore Indian Orchestra and Choir, many of them stalwarts with over 25 years of performance experience, and some upcoming artistes with exciting promise. Together, the choir with a rich mix of male and female voices, and the orchestra encompassing strings, percussion, wind and keyboard, will leave you spellbound with a repertoire themed around Indian classical music and enriched with musical innovations, multiethnic collaborations and path-breaking harmonisations.

Singapore Indian Orchestra and Choir

The Singapore Indian Orchestra & Choir (SIOC) is a 39-year-old performing arts group and one of the world’s largest semi-professional groups showcasing the richness of Indian music with its wide range of traditional and contemporary repertoire. Under the baton of Lalitha Vaidyanathan, PBM, SIOC has redefined the boundaries of Indian music through exciting collaborations with leading local and international composers as well as bringing the multi-racial cultural vibrance that Singapore is well known for to the local audience.

SIOC’s orchestral repertoire spans over 100 musical compositions ranging from traditional Carnatic, Hindustani to contemporary & multi-ethnic pieces. Our choir / choral group blends innovatively with acapella techniques and we are one of the first to break international barriers in this space.

It has been a privilege for SIOC to have enthralled its audiences for over the past many years and be a pivotal part of Singapore’s performing arts landscape. SIOC looks forward to the continued support and patronage of art lovers.
